WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMMES
The Women Empowerment Centre is regularly running Balwadi programmes and Tailoring classes (6 months course, New 2 Batches started from March 2025. Timings are 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m) for the poor women in the surrounding areas of Doddigunta Slum.
CHARITY BAZAAR:
The YWCA organized “November Fest” a charity Bazaar programme on 16th November 2024. A stall was installed at YWCA by the women empowerment centre staff and volunteers. Mrs. Pascal Mary, Staff from Doddigunta centre was incharge of the stall and displayed handicrafts, Home Decor etc made by trainees of Women Empowerment training centre. There was a good response from the crowd.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY:
The Women’s Empowerment Centre at YMCA Bangalore organised an “International Women’s Day Programme” on March 8, 2025, on the theme “Accelerate Action” at YMCA Dream Home in K.G. Halli, Bangalore. Mrs. Ameli Cecily, Managing Trustee of Together We Thrive Trust and Treasurer of the Women’s Commission for the Archdiocese of Bangalore, was the resource person and inspired women to embrace independence and take charge of their lives. The event was presided over by Mrs. Jeba Jyothi, a Board Member of YMCA Bangalore. Approximately 70 women from the local community attended the program, which was followed by a lunch.
